Description

In demanding industrial applications involving high tensile loads, repeated flexing, pressure, vibration, or dimensional movement, conventional rubber sheets may not provide sufficient mechanical stability. While rubber offers excellent elasticity and sealing performance, excessive stretching, tensile creep, and tearing can become critical limitations when the material is subjected to sustained mechanical stress.

Our Kevlar Reinforced Rubber Sheets combine the flexibility, resilience, and sealing properties of high-performance elastomers with the exceptional tensile strength and dimensional stability of Kevlar® aramid fiber fabric. Through advanced calendering, fabric impregnation, and high-pressure vulcanization processes, the reinforcement is securely integrated within the rubber matrix to create a high-strength composite material designed for demanding sealing and mechanical applications.

As a premium solution within our Fabric Reinforced Rubber Sheet range, Kevlar-reinforced rubber sheets provide an excellent balance of flexibility, tear resistance, tensile strength, and long-term dimensional stability.

Inside Our Factory: Advanced Kevlar Fabric Reinforcement Technology

High-Strength Aramid Fabric as the Structural Skeleton

At the heart of our Kevlar-reinforced rubber sheets is a high-strength woven aramid fabric reinforcement. Kevlar® is a para-aramid fiber known for its exceptionally high tensile strength-to-weight ratio, low elongation, and excellent resistance to fatigue and tearing.

During production, the Kevlar fabric is accurately positioned between layers of uncured rubber compound. The fabric acts as the structural skeleton of the composite, while the surrounding rubber provides flexibility, elasticity, sealing capability, and environmental resistance.

This combination allows the finished sheet to withstand mechanical forces that would cause conventional unreinforced rubber to stretch, deform, or tear.

Uniform Surface and Consistent Thickness

Following calendering, lamination, and vulcanization, the finished sheet is carefully controlled for thickness, surface finish, and dimensional consistency.

Versatile Elastomer Formulations

Kevlar reinforcement can be combined with different rubber compounds to meet specific temperature, chemical, oil, weathering, and mechanical requirements.
  • FKM + Kevlar
FKM (Fluorocarbon Rubber) + Kevlar provides an advanced combination of chemical resistance, high-temperature performance, and mechanical strength. It is suitable for demanding applications involving fuels, oils, solvents, and aggressive chemical environments.
Typical applications include petrochemical equipment, high-temperature sealing systems, aerospace-related components, and industrial process equipment.

  • NBR + Kevlar
NBR (Nitrile Rubber) + Kevlar combines excellent resistance to mineral oils, fuels, and hydraulic fluids with enhanced tensile and tear resistance.
It is particularly suitable for hydraulic equipment, oil-resistant gaskets, heavy machinery, pipelines, and industrial fluid-handling systems.

  • EPDM + Kevlar
EPDM + Kevlar combines excellent resistance to ozone, UV radiation, weathering, and hot water or steam with enhanced mechanical stability.
This formulation is well suited for outdoor sealing systems, expansion joints, industrial gaskets, water systems, and applications exposed to severe environmental conditions.

  • Silicone + Kevlar
Silicone + Kevlar combines the excellent temperature flexibility and electrical insulation properties of silicone rubber with the high tensile strength and dimensional stability of aramid fabric.
It is suitable for high-temperature flexible connections, thermal insulation systems, electrical equipment, duct connectors, and specialized industrial sealing applications.

Why Choose Our Kevlar Reinforced Rubber Sheets?
Exceptional Tensile Strength and Tear Resistance

Kevlar aramid fabric provides a high-strength reinforcement layer that significantly improves the mechanical strength of the rubber sheet. Compared with unreinforced rubber, the composite structure offers much greater resistance to tensile deformation, tearing, and mechanical damage.

This makes Kevlar-reinforced rubber particularly suitable for applications where the material must maintain its integrity under high mechanical loads.

  • Excellent Dimensional Stability
The low elongation characteristics of Kevlar help control rubber deformation under tension and pressure. The reinforcement limits excessive stretching and reduces dimensional changes during repeated loading.
This is especially valuable for large-area gaskets, flange seals, flexible connections, and other components where maintaining the original dimensions is critical to sealing performance.
  • Flexible Rubber with a High-Strength Reinforcement
Unlike rigid reinforcement materials, woven aramid fabric can maintain a degree of flexibility while providing substantial mechanical reinforcement.
The rubber matrix retains its elasticity and ability to conform to mating surfaces, while the Kevlar reinforcement provides the strength needed to resist excessive deformation.
  • Superior Resistance to Mechanical Fatigue
Kevlar-reinforced rubber sheets are designed for applications involving repeated loading, vibration, flexing, and mechanical movement. The reinforcement helps distribute mechanical stresses throughout the composite structure, reducing localized damage and extending service life.
  • Suitable for Large and Custom-Size Components
Our continuous calendering and vulcanization capabilities allow us to manufacture long-length reinforced rubber sheets in customized thicknesses and widths.
This is particularly advantageous for large industrial gaskets and sealing components, where continuous sheet production can reduce the number of joints and minimize cutting waste.
